Album Review: Velvet Trip – Glimmers Continued “A Psychedelic Groove Worth Getting Lost In”

Tracklist:   1. Superstar 2. It Don’t Matter 3. Calling Out Your Name 4. The Here and Now 5. The Bends 6. Another Life 7. Tell Me Why 8. Burning Up 9. Fr3o 10. Let Go 11. It’s All for You       Let’s start by giving Zeppelin Hamilton some props — Velvet Trip is an elite band name. It’s smooth, a bit sexy, and fits their whole psychedelic pop‑rock thing perfectly. The trio (Zeppelin, Toby Anagnostis, and Clayton Allen) have been pumping out music at a wild pace, and the best part is… it’s actually good.   Glimmers Continued is basically the full version of their 2025 EP Glimmers, with six extra tracks added to round it out into a proper album. It follows their 2024 debut Harmony Blooms, so yeah — these guys don’t muck around.   A Smooth Start, Then the Trip Begins   The album kicks off with Superstar , a warm little intro track that shows off Zeppelin’s silky vocals and the synthy textures that pop up al...

ALBUM REVIEW: TEED Reinvents with Always With Me: A Nostalgic Yet Fresh Electro-Pop Journey

Tracklist: 1. Desire 2. In Darkness 3. My Melody 4. Ascent 5. Piece of Me 6. The Echo 7. Always With Me 8. Come Tonight 9. Endless 10. Rekt 11. Start Again   Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is back – but with a twist. The British DJ/producer has undergone a subtle rebrand and now performs under the alias TEED . It’s a smart move, considering the original name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. TEED’s third album, Always With Me, kicks off on a high with Desire , the first single released ahead of the album. Its synth-heavy, electro-pop vibe immediately draws you in. For me, it evokes nostalgia, reminiscent of TEED’s debut album, and sets the tone perfectly for what’s to come. The record is sprinkled with strong tracks throughout. My Melody and Piece of Me follow in the footsteps of Desire, delivering that signature electronic pop sound paired with compelling lyrics. The Echo , on the other hand, shifts gears with a bass-driven beat that demands movement. Then t...

Swimming Paul Live Review: 9/1/26 Liberty Hall

From Sold - Out to Standout: Swimming Paul's Night of Magic Swimming Paul the French born London based DJ might just have had the best marketing game in Australia yet. Every show sold out, and those who missed out were scrambling on apps like Tixel for a second chance. Nothing makes people want a ticket more than knowing it’s impossible to get one. Also the fact that ticket prices were a very honest $60. The venues? Absolute genius. Small, intimate spaces with that dark nightclub vibe, ensuring everyone could feel the full sonic impact no matter where they stood. It was pure Academy nostalgia in the best possible way. Then came the show. No pause, no awkward silence—just a seamless handover from Jessi Lowkey, who finished her set like a champion. Swimming Paul walks on, raises her hand, and the crowd erupts. Then. Here. We. Go. He opens with my personal favourite, VHS, and instantly the room is electric—no one standing still. From there, he slides into Driving Fast, teasi...

Wildlands Festival Set Reviews: Brisbane

Miss Kaninna Live @ Wildlands 1/1/26: Punchy & Strong   Our first set of the day belonged to the wildly talented and unapologetically passionate Miss Kaninna . From the moment she stepped on stage, it was clear we were in for a ride. Her performance was a dynamic blend of rap and soulful singing, showcasing a versatility that few can pull off so effortlessly. Miss Kaninna isn’t afraid to speak her truth. Her lyrics pack political punches and deliver raw honesty, making her music as thought-provoking as it is entertaining. Representing hard for Tassie, she invites you on a journey through her world — and trust us, it’s one you’ll want to take. What’s truly exciting about Kaninna is her range. From the bold punchy “Blak Britney” to the more personal soft vibes of her recent single “Backstreets” , her growing catalogue is full of surprises. Each track feels like a new chapter, and it’s clear she’s only just getting started. If you’re looking for an artist who bring...
