Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is back – but with a
twist. The British DJ/producer has undergone a subtle rebrand and now performs
under the alias TEED. It’s a smart move, considering the original name
doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.
TEED’s third album, Always With Me, kicks off on a high with
Desire, the first single released ahead of the album. Its synth-heavy,
electro-pop vibe immediately draws you in. For me, it evokes nostalgia,
reminiscent of TEED’s debut album, and sets the tone perfectly for what’s to
come.
The record is sprinkled with strong tracks throughout. My
Melody and Piece of Me follow in the footsteps of Desire, delivering
that signature electronic pop sound paired with compelling lyrics. The Echo,
on the other hand, shifts gears with a bass-driven beat that demands movement.
Then there’s Come Tonight – in my opinion, the standout track. It
strikes the perfect balance: a song that makes you want to dance yet lets you
lose yourself in its sway.
That said, a couple of tracks feel more like fillers,
lacking lyrical depth. But that’s a personal take – I’m someone who values
strong lyrics in a song. I’d love to ask TEED about the inspiration behind this
album, as many of the lyrics seem rooted in themes of love and heartache.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Always With Me. It feels like
TEED did too. If you’re after an easy-listening electronic pop album, this
one’s for you. I’ve played it at work through headphones, in the car, cooking
dinner and even while relaxing on the deck with a drink – it suits almost any
setting.
